Weekend Buddhist Meditation Retreats
During meditation retreat we take ourselves away from our usual routines and learn how to develop the inner peace that we need for our daily happiness. Many benefits come from engaging in retreat. On the retreats we learn Buddhist meditation techniques. Meditation enables us to create space in our mind and enjoy a fresh perspective on life. A Buddhist meditation retreat is a meaningful holiday that brings great long-term benefit to our lives.
Each retreat consists of guided meditations and teachings. There is plenty of time for walks, meeting with like minded people, or just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Centre.
The typical schedule on retreat is four meditation sessions of about one hour each, every day. The sessions are fully guided by qualified Buddhist meditation teachers.
Different levels of retreat are offered at Bodhisattva Buddhist Centre, Brighton, UK: Introduction to Meditation weekend retreats, Clear Mind meditation retreat and Medicine for the Mind Retreat with our Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Nyingpo. We also offer week long guided retreats in January. Retreats listed on this site are suitable for everyone.

"The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions."
